Knitting...the final finish

Well, it was pretty touch and go, but the yarn held out and the socks are finished. They are lovely and fit very nicely, if I do say so myself. :)

You can click the above pic to enlarge and see the detail.

And, just for interest's sake, here is the amount of yarn I had left. Trust me...it isn't very much!

In case you didn't see it, today's installation of Charlotte Mason Basics is underneath this post. I don't know how to get it to be first!

  2. Terrific socks, Christine. I'm so glad the yarn lasted!

I've been reading, but have been trying to limit my online time more carefully, so I haven't been commenting. I'm going to revisit a couple of your posts when I have some dedicated online time and pop in my comments: you're really not alone out there in cyberspace! :)

Here's a quick how to for you so you can arrange more than one post on a day in the order you choose:

When you go to post your item, click on the 'post options' near the bottom of the text entry box. That will expand a section at the bottom where there is a space to put in the time of the post. You can simply edit the time on the second post you write to be earlier than the first one. That will put it later in the queue and thus at the top of the day's posts. Hope that helps! (I just re-read it and it sounds way more complicated than it is. You'll just have to give it a try and see how easy it is.)

We sure enjoyed your visit on Monday. Thanks for making the trip out.

  3. Thanks so much, Susan! I will contact the person who sold me the pattern to see if it is available. :)

  4. Thanks, Jennifer for the compliment and the tip. I actually did try to readjust the times, but since I'd already published the knitting blog post, for some reason, it wouldn't rearrange them no matter what I did with the times. So, instead of deleting and re-posting, I just left it.

We loved our visit, too. Thank you so much for hosting us! :)

  7. Susan,
Judy at www.theknitter.com says she still has kits (yarn and patterns) as well as just patterns for sale. They aren't on the site, so you'd just need to contact her. :) Debbie O'Neill is apparently also getting ready to put the pattern on Ravelry. In addition, there is an extremely similar pattern, also called Vine Lace, in the book Socks Socks Socks by Elaine Rowley.
